My first girl friend comment …

When I just was in university, I met with my first girl friend. After graduate, we still keep in touch and communicate to each other. We hope the relationship will grow but not. She told me that she don’t feel secure to live with me. Many of my friends do comment the same, saying that I am not financially strong and spend too much time on learning and socializing. Well, they can be right. I spend almost all my time and money for buying books, attending seminar, Toastmasters, Jaycees meeting etc. As a result, I don’t seem to be strong financially compare to those who spend money on branded clothing’s, luxurious car and beautiful house.

Until today, I discover that success is not so much on outlook. With all the learning and struggling to develop my character, knowledge and EQ, I start to meet with “greater” opportunity which would not belong to me if I don’t train myself at my early age.  One of my Guru told me, “Like is liken to bamboo shoot, you take years to groom your root underground without anybody noticing it; but when it start growing out of the ground, it’s height can go to several hundred feet in just few months time.

I start to aware that “self development” is the best asset that you can give to yourself. Nobody can still from you.  You can lost your car, lost your house etc; but you can never lost your wisdom and skills. I never regret of spending almost five thousand to buy the SMI (Success Motivation International) program called “The Dynamic Of Personal Goal Setting” when I just graduated in 1990. I still remember the salesman pass two books and six cassette when I was atSubangAirport. At that time, I even have to borrow few hundred ringgit from my girl friend to settle the overweight charge of my luggage.

After so many years learning about success principles, I have develop the mental success of an achiever. All these years, I have gain numerous award, achievement and financial success. Even though I do made some mistake and encounter problems or failures, but success principles keep my momentum towards my life destiny. In other words, you become unstoppable and unbreakable.

With the supreme power of success principles, what you want will come to you. It is just the matter of time, your dreams will become a reality. With SMI, I also set up my million dollar financial dream. Now, I can see that all my planning actualize gradually towards my predetermined destiny.

Adakah kekayaan suatu tanda “tamak haloba”

Ramai orang memikirkan usahawan yang mengejar kekayaan adalah suatu tanda tamak haloba. Mereka amat sensitif dengan isu mencari pelanggan, mencari orang , membina rangkaian perniagaan dan sebagainya. Adakah benar orang-orang seperti ini bersifat tamak?

Dalam definasi saya, orang yang tamak adalah orang yang hendakkan kekayaan tanpa m encurahkan usaha dan nilai yang sewajarnya. Contohnya , perompak yang tidak memberi nilai kepada masyarakat tetapi hendak mencari kekayaan dengan melakukan jenayah adalah orang-orang yang tamak. Pengemis yang boleh bekerja tetapi hendak mencari wang dengan mudah tanpa memberi nilai kepada masyarakat adalah orang yang tamak.

Cuba kita selidik orang-orang yang kaya raya. Mereka adalah insan yang banyak menyumbang nilai kepada masyarakat. Mereka mendirikan kilang dan membuat berbagai produk yang bernilai. Bila barangan tersebut dibeli oleh orang-orang yang memerlukannya, mereka akan menerima ganjaran dalam bentuk kuntungan. Semakin berharga produk mereka , semakin tinggi keuntungan yang mereka dapati. Contohnya , saudagar menjual nasi lemak di warung jalan dan usahawan yang membuka restoran dalam hotel bertaraf lima bintang mempunyai nilai perniagaan yang berbeza. Saudagar warung menjual nasi lemak dengan harga satu ringgit, sebaliknya, saudagar di hotel betaraf lima bintang menjual nasi lemak dengan sepuluh ringgit. Sudah pasti pelanggan sudi membayar harga yang lebih besar kepada saudagar di hotel kerana nilai persekitaran, perkhidmatan yang jauh lebih baik dari warung tepi jalan. Dengan itu, tahap keuntungan dan kekayaan yang diterima oleh saudagar tersebut memberi keselesaan dan kemewahan yang tidak dapat dinikmati oleh saudagar warung biarpun produk mereka hampir sama.

 

Oleh itu , janganlah kita cemburu dengan orang-orang yang lebih kaya dari kita. Sebaliknya, tanya diri kita  – apakah nilai yang mereka sumbangkan tetapi belum menjadi nilali dalam hidup anda. Anda akan dapati semua orang-orang yang kaya mempunyai nilai yang tinggi dalam hidup. Mereka dihormati dan disayangi oleh orang-orang yang menikmati nilai yang telah mereka curahkan. Mereka juga mendapat penghormatan dari kerajaan kerana nilai  ”cukai” yang mereka sumbang untuk memajukan negara tercinta.

 

Bila anda jumpa dengan orang kaya, katakan dengan diri anda ” Saya bangga dengan nilai yang anda sumbangkan”. Anda tahu, tanpa mereka , anda tidak akan menikmati perkhidmatan kesihatan, keselamatan dan sebagainya yang telah dibina oleh kerajaan.

 

Ilmu kejayaan

Kekayaan akan menjadi suatu tanda tamak haloba kalau anda tidak dapat memberi sumbangan nilai yang sejajar dengan apa yang anda telah perolehi.  Dunia sentiasa mengalu-alukan orang-orang yang mendapatkan kekayaan dengan menukar perkhidmatan atau produk yang bernilai. Semakin hebat produk dan perkhidmatan anda , semakinlah ramai orang yang memerlukannya.; maka, semakin tinggilah nilai kekayaan anda.

Work hard and work smart

I heard from few bosses that if their managers and teams stay late at work daily is a good sign. The company wants productivity and result. Thus, this demand builds a culture in the company to slowdown the process so that the workers can take their sweet time to complete the task at night. Most of the worker who are ready to stay back are those “money seeker” , while some others who want quality life would resign and look for jobs else where. What is happening? The company will nurture a group of low performer who just can’t work with speed.

 

On the other hand, +a company that encourages “efficiency” and “productivity” without overtime would train the workers to be responsible on timeline productivity. If the work load is high, they will learn to plan and delegate so that they job can still be completed without overtime. The culture of working becomes aggressive and fast. Thus, the worker who can’t enjoy overtime paid would resign and seek employment elsewhere.

 

Success in an organization is not always working hard. Dragging a job to extra hours is just a symptom of “Showing” the boss that I am working hard. The result of such working habit will give rise to unhealthy lifestyle which resulted in various ailments upon retirement. Statistic has shown that many companies with “unhealthy” working habit of staying extra hours everyday would contribute to the “rising of medical bill” which in return will make the company suffer.

 

Success in life is the ability to gain wholesomeness in all area of life. You can be “Praised” by the management for staying back late at night, you can also be cursed by your children and spouse for not caring about family wellbeing. The choice is yours. Yes, balancing is everything. You have to understand that you need time to go for sports, socializing and spiritual commitment; so that you can gain more “energy” and “fitness” to work for the company.

 

I have seen company which “stress” their salesman who can’t produce result with mid might struggle. All the salesperson come to the office with the sign of exhaustion and moody the second day. For sure, they would not be able to carry out their sales activities with enthusiasm.

Working hard with overtime is a good sign for career success but it might not benefit us in the long run when your start having all sorts of “health problems”.
